Tony, Roec and Rick decide to try and sneak into the facility and perform a rescue. Rick's disguise as a maintenance worker gets him into the building, while roec and Tony bushwack a couple of guards on the roof and come into the building from the top down. What is discovered is that the buiding is not a medical supply center at all, but infact is a vampire testing center where all manner of disturbing medieval techniques are performed on captured vamps in the name of science. The Skull is found to be on the second floor and the team of witch hunters that captured him is still there, barganing with the staff over a price for his head.

Following up on the address pulled from the surveilence cameras, the group heads to Wargrave's shop. This powerful and affluent vampire seems to have had dealings with vernon, although also seems to be plauged by guilt about it. His occult craftsmenship seems to hold the key to returning Kaytoss's power, but it comes with a price. Wargrave is interested in obtaining Vernon's research into crafting the biological monstrocities that plagued the group through chapter one. Although they don't like it, the group decided to steal the research from the federal building (knowing that vernon's laboratory was investigated by mortals at the end of chapter two).
On the way to the Special Investigations Building two things of note happen :
1. Kilgore continues to hear voices talking to him, demanding knowledge of where Valdred is.
2. The Camirilla has contacted the group and told them that the vortex connected with the black pyramid has stopped. No one know why...
Once adequately disguised only Kilgore and Tony are able to slip past the security check point. Once on the other side however, Tony is unable to get inside of the evidence annex and Kilgore is captured. Thankfully however the morals are looking for a conduit to interact with vampires and think that "Quin" as one of their own would be perfect to fill this role. Kilgore is given his orders, Quin's family is threatened, and he is pushed out of the building (but not before bargaining for access to the digital files they were looking for).
Fed up with waiting and with Tony unable to get to the evidence, Darren throws caution to the wind and runs to the evidence annex, takes a hostage, and proceeds to GET THE JOB DONE. Meanwhile the rest of the group run interference and before you know it everyone is fleeing the scene.
Trout's Lorax spiel was pretty damn amazing.
