- Mortimer is confronted on the roof of the Camirilla Building. A combination on Movement of the Mind, Tempest, and Lure of the flames are being used to create a deadly storm of fire.
- The team quickly learns to coordinate their attacks to see any damage dealt to Mortimer's flame ravaged body. Most notably are the attacks made by Roec and Darren.
- A wave of relief is felt as Valdred appears on the roof. Unfortunately however this feeling is quickly lost as the truth about his generation becomes known. The Prince himself seems paralyzed by this new knowledge.
- The authentic second half of the golden statue that has been changing hands throughout the chapter is an unmistakable likeness of Valdred. Meaning that if his sire is Cain, he is only SECOND GENERATION!
- Giuseppe is summoned to the library by Maria, who wants to put aside their petty rivalry and summon Kaytoss.
- Giuseppe and Kaytoss use the library device to jump back to the fight on the roof, but not before a distinctly ugly shadowy figure appears behind Maria.
- In his final attack, Mortimer evokes the strange True Faith like power within the statue binding all will humanity of 5 or lower to the roof and disabling their disciplines. Simultaneously he conjures a massive wave of blue rolling fire to burn away everything in its path.
- But what Mortimer didn't take into consideration is that not all Vampires are evil monsters; Lucky, Primogen of the New York Nosferatu is unaffected by the statue's powers. In an act of ultimate altruism Mortimer is tackled off of the roof. The group, the Prince, Kaytoss and indeed the city itself are all saved as both plunging vampires meet their end upon the pavement below.
