- The team awakens to a fight going on outside. A group of Followers of Omar freshly arrived are beating up Nevil, who has come to warn Lucky about the recent attack on the Camirilla building.
- The group rushes to Blood Tower to find the Aidis and a few surviving Primogens outside calling in reinforcements. Apparently the Watchdogs have set loose all of the infected mental patients from the Manhattan Psychiatric Facility, along with the Abomination that escaped from Wexfield's tomb. The possibility of a Lunatic Eruption strong enough to effect the prince is whispered.
- After battling their way through waves of infected lunatics, Tony, Roec, Darren and Giuseppe are approached by D. Bloodworth who claims to have been in hiding since the attack. Any trust is broken however as Bloodworth attacks as soon as their guards are down.
- After passing floors of rampaging asylum regulars Giuseppe rushes to the infirmary, seeking Maria, only to find evidence of a struggle and an empty bed.
- Just in the nick of time the group comes to the aid of Finchley, who has been beaten badly by the Sabat Cage fighter Gormit. The hulking fighter however is being strengthened by some other force in the building. The group decides to split up; one group will seek out the ritual in the building strengthening their opponent and the other will remain and hold the brute off from killing Finchley.
- It is not a ritual however that is strengthening Gormit, it is none other than the Abomination that escaped from the chambers below the subway tunnels. Calling himself Simulacrum Set, the figure claims to be working for Lord Vernon and speaks as though he has been chosen by Set to slay the children of Cain.
Just when it seems like Roec and Trist are about to meet true death at the hand of this monstrosity the two gargoyle minions (Aries and Mars) commanded by Armand rush to their aid. In a truly titanic clash of bestial dark God-like power vs masterwork stone automaton, Simulacrum Set is defeated by Trist dealing the final death blow with the Sword of the Library (Gladius Bibliotheca).
- Soon after, the group gathers themselves for their final adversary - Mortimer.
