C3 S3 - All Heaven Breaks Loose

What a good session!  I thought that there was a good mix of plot elements and a tremendous amount of combat that was awesome.  Cleaver traps, plot twists, amazing attacks and escapes- this one had it all!  Let's find out what happened...

As the Night began two interesting bits of information are learned.  First Darren learns about Maria's plan to have Prince Hyde give her a recommendation to be a Justicar from a letter recovered from the group's old safe house.  Secondly Rick is contacted by his sire and told to attend a meeting of powerful vampires being put together by one the Prince's aids named Winters.

After that the group is off to learn more about the hunters operating out the Chapel of Everlasting Light.  After careful observation and a bit of Astral Projection Rick Brown becomes impatient and begins hurling objects off of the roof through the ornate windows of the building in order to see if there is a reaction.  Unfortunately after several attempts including assault rifle fire and lobbing a window mounted AC unit, there seems to be no changes to the scene.

An attack is then organized spearheaded by Darren and Tony Trist who crash their van through the front doors.  Armed to the teeth the rest of the group then enters and is quickly engaged in combat by a small group of hunters.  Amid the chaos of the fight and the strange flickering of the light inside the structure ten more hunters pull up outside and get the jump on Olliver who was acting as lookout ans scout.  Unfortunately for them a lucky metronome sees the Vamp shift into Horrid Form and like a juggernaut stands against all the punishment they can deliver.
Meanwhile Giuseppe finds himself the victim of a heinous trap, and were it not for Tony Trist's quick thinking would have found himself dead at the bottom of a hidden well of holy water.  Additionally Kilgore uncovers a potent holy relic at the top of one of the towers, and Rick through a separate investigation manages to follow the lead hunter down into a small crypt behind the building.  In this crypt the Arch Bishop of the Sabat Cassius Ordun is found manacled to the wall and is slowly being burned to death.  After several rounds of gunfire and copious amounts of the ability Tongue Tied, the lead hunter is set on fire and is last seen fleeing the grounds.

The group finds little rest upon returning to the new safe house however as it seems that the werewolf attack that had been learned about previously had been carried out and Finchley is nowhere to be seen. Insult is added to injury as Kaytoss is found severely beaten and left for dead.  Despite this however the group decides that a trade with the Sabat for Maria should be the next order of business, and so goes about fetching blood for their trip to Blackwell island.
Blood is not easily obtained now however as the city hides from the darkness under a mandatory curfew.  Several of the group's faces are seen gracing the local news stations, and the severity of the new masquerade-less city sinks in.  There is some trouble with a local elimination team, but enough blood is recovered for the trip to the Sabat island.

The PC's learn that all of the bridges to the island have been nullified except one, which now is shut down without power and barricaded off.  A sinking feeling is felt as the group begins to cross the darkened gently swaying structure, and is surprised to see Arturo standing alone in the darkness at the apex of the bridge.  Despite the red flags going off inside their heads Giuseppe is left behind on the roadway to fulfill his desire to have a one on one duel with his rival.  Shockingly it is learned too late that the individual fighting is not in fact Arturo, but in reality Maria.  Badly injured and with a shifted appearance Maria is no match for Giuseppe's opening attack and is slain.
The situation turns from bad to weird as Kaytoss is seen approaching from the eastern side of the bridge.  With his hands shaking Giuseppe is the first to learn that Vernon is resurrecting the dead, and that this figure before him is Kaytoss's lost brother!  Maria's body is claimed by Vernon as Darren and Tony burst back onto the scene and attempt to escape with Giuseppe.  They fortunately are successful, narrowly avoiding large debris thrown by "Kaytoss" as they exit.

The Sabat may not be the best hosts, but are welcome ones.
