C3 S1 - R.I.P. Easton

     Chapter Three Session one was one that really was full of surprises for me as the GM.

1.      The group learned about the current state of the city and the hunt for Vernon from their remaining friends at Peter's funeral.  Two avenues of interest were:
1. Kaytoss seems to be far weaker than he used to be, and depressed.  
2. The mortal forces have done a thorough investigation of the laboratory found below the sixth street station.  Unfortunately all of that information is housed within a federal special investigations facility.  
3. The Blue hunt needs help keeping the witch hunter problem in check, and could use a hand getting the Followers of Omar on board.  
2.     The group decides to talk to the followers, and see if they can't get them to stay in the city.  Unfortunately their contact Cylas has left town.  Amidst the turmoil of the clan choosing a new leader, they learn that there is a common enemy- the Watchdogs, and that the FO hold them personally responsible for what has happened to the city.  An agreement is made where the group will aid the Followers on a raid into the sewers.  
3.      Witch hunters prove to be quite problematic as the group ruins Da Gorf for like the twentieth time on their way to the meeting point.  
4.      Once beneath the streets, the attack team can't find a way into the hideout.  A problem thankfully Mr. Trout is able to solve, as Giuseppe is unable to apprehend the only Watchdog to appear on the scene.  After a bloody skirmish the group meets back at the safe house, wishing they had spent more time learning and destroying the occult mechanisms found within the hidden chamber and asking themselves- what has vernon been summoning to the city?  
5.      Additionally an unpleasant informant has let the group know about a possible Werewolf raid into the city to recover a lost item in Finchley's possession.  With the Camirilla in shambles and the Gangrel vying for territory with NY refugees, there is little to stop them.  
6.      Tony, Giuseppe, Kaytoss and Ollie strike out on their own in an attempt to infiltrate the federal building and gain access to the evidence collected from Vernon's sanctum.  The plan goes well until failure to remain undercover puts the team in extreme danger.  The Easton, functioning as council for the city of NY arrives on the scene, only to find that he hasn't prepared enough traps!  Extreme amounts of aggravated damage is dealt out as the buildings defense systems kick in, almost killing Oliver and leaving Giuseppe unable to control in fear for several turns.  

               In the end however Oliver is barely saved by Tony, and has single handedly slain one of the most powerful mortals in the city.  Giuseppe buck naked flees back to the newly acquired getaway car with Kaytoss, Tony and the crumpled body of Ollie quickly following.  Although the mission was an abject failure, a sense of accomplishment is felt in bringing down such a powerful foe.  

               The special investigations department is now on red alert,  making getting access to the materials recovered from the sixth street lab that much harder.  Regrettably at the end of session one Vernon's train has grown a bit colder...
