- The group goes to the Camirilla building to interrogate some of the captured Sabat from the night before, when they are informed of an attack that was made against Maria and Gabriella (the Torreadore Primogen). It is unclear at this point who was behind it.
- Before leaving Giuseppe is pulled aside by the prince, and ordered to complete the blood bonding ritual. Thankfully precautions have been taken and the bonding is not brought to fruition.
- Eugine and Lucky find that Maria is alive, but just barely and that the attack was the work of Clayton Blackwell (a known Watchdog) and Mortimer (the rising star and Bishop of the NY Sabat).
- Eugine alone remains in conspicuous pursuit.
- Throwing Caution to the wind Darren Anderson pushes the newly acquired armored car to the limit as he places himself and celebrity Tony Trist on a collision course with Clayton & Mortimer's vehicle.
- The resulting impact forces Blackwell to meet his much deserved true death.
- Meanwhile Giuseppe uncovers several hidden facts about the relationship between Wexfield and Valdred, and discovers the "Gladio Biblioteca" aka the Sword of the Library in the process.
- We Fled Death vol. XI unveils the fact that upon Wexfield's death, all mortals controlled by his strange blood will frenzy, potentially with his disciplines infused within them.
- Back at the crash site Darren, Trist and Eugine find themselves hell bent on putting another notch on their character sheets as they face off against Mortimer, who is terrifyingly empowered with the second half of the golden statue recovered earlier in the chapter. The team braves a hail of bullets and a maelstrom of fire to repeatedly deal drive by attacks.
- Mortimer seemingly losing control detonates in a massive wave of fire. The statue and his body go unrecovered.

- Once recovered from the previous ordeals Giuseppe, Trist and Darren go looking to stuff their wallets. An unremarkable pawn shop in West Village is chosen. All is well until they are attacked by Easton (a notorious witch hunter with almost superhuman skill).
- Despite a prolonged game of cat and mouse which ended with an apartment building being sabotaged and torched, neither the Easton nor the group are able to deal a mortal blow.
- A suspicious letter written in Ratoe's code is obtained, and a sinking feeling that Vernon is somehow pulling the strings of the Easton (going by the alias Brosecki) is felt by all.
My only hope is that Mortimer somehow made it out alive, so I can get a hold of him. If I do, I'm going to punch him so much I'm going to have his brain all over my fist.
ReplyDeleteI hope one day I can hold the rank of at least Bishop .... I mean .. Uh ... something Camarilla related!
ReplyDeleteMight makes right in the Sabat. Just set up an official challenge, and WIN. Simple as that :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to officially challenge Mortimer's face, with my fist as the opponent.
